I'm New

Welcome

So, you are looking for a church and you have some questions. We hope to be able to provide you with some of the answers and we look forward to meeting you and helping with the rest. We are excited that you are curious about us and we look forward to meeting you!

What To Expect

Q - How long is a typical service?
A -  60 minutes, unless the Pastor gets wordy - it happens once in while.

Q - What style of worship is practiced?
A - We sing a mix of contemporary and traditional music and tend to follow a more traditional service format with a little bit of Pastor's own relaxed flare.

Q - What can I expect concerning Holy Communion?
A -  We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion the first Sunday of every month. United Methodists practice an “open table” meaning that all people whether they are baptized, believer, or seeking are welcome at the Lord’s table, including children. We partake of Holy Communion by intinction meaning - we have individual bread that is dipped into one cup.

Q - Are children allowed in the service?
A - We are a family church and encourage children to attend service with elements in the service just for them.

Q - What is there for my children?
A - Services feature a  weekly 'Basket Lesson' for kids and after the offering the younger children are released to attend Children's Church in the lower level. We do have a nursery for infants through 3 years of age. Our older children and youth are encouraged to help in the service though greeting, ushering, reading Scripture, and collecting the offering.

Q - What should I wear to church?
A - We prefer that you wear clothes. Dress modestly but what you wear is not as important as you. We will love you if you come in a suit, shorts, dress, or pants.

Q - Are you handicap accessible?
A - Yes, we are! We have an elevator that takes you to all 3 levels and a handicap bathroom on the 2nd floor. There are also wheelchairs and walkers available at both entry ways, one of which is a handicap door with a pushbutton.

Q - Where is the main entrance?
A - You are able to turn in either between the Memorial Garden and church building or between the church building and City Hall.

Q - Is there coffee?
A - We are offer coffee before the service and afterwards there is a fellowship time. Plan to hang around after the service for fellowship and food (and coffee)!
