Read: Isaiah 9:6-7a
“6 For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders;
and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 His authority shall grow continually, and there shall be endless peace for the throne of David and his kingdom….” – Isaiah 9:6-7a
When the singing of “Silent Night” at the candlelight service is a pleasant memory,
when the wrapping paper is thrown away,
after the cookies are gone,
and the company has left,
after the seemingly endless football bowl games on TV,
and the New Years Eve party in Times Square,
after all of it,
Jesus is and will always be –
Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
Read that list again, slowly. Give yourself a moment for each one of these titles and meditate on them.
How has that set of truths made a difference in your life in the past?
How will that set of truths make a difference in your life in 2019?
Commit to living life cognizant of that truth. Claim it for yourself and help it to become a reality for those in your life.
